Museo del Prado, Madrid

Prominent among the CEEH’s collaborations with the Museo Nacional del Prado are research projects involving the Department of drawings, prints and photographs and helping catalogue and exhibit its holdings through various initiatives, usually in association with other Spanish or foreign institutions.

These actions are aimed at publishing catalogues raisonnés of Spanish artists’ works on paper, a distinctive aspect of the CEEH’s editorial work for some time. In addition to these books, published jointly with the Prado and the partners involved in each project, there are other monographic studies on the history of the collecting of drawings and the formation of the bequests now in the Museum’s care.

The CEEH provides support in the form of research grants for specific projects, as well as helping acquire pieces that enrich the Museum’s collections through the Comisión Dibujos y Estampas of the Fundación Amigos del Museo del Prado.
