Rosa M. Vives holds a degree in Art History and Fine Arts from Barcelona University, where she is professor of Painting, Engraving and Printmaking. She is also a full member and secretary general of the Reial Acadèmia Catalana de Belles Arts de Sant Jordi. Her publications on art history and theory, especially in connection with engraving, include Fortuny grabador. Estudio crítico y catálogo razonado (1991), Del cobre al papel. La imagen multiplicada  (1994), Mariano Fortuny Marsal y Mariano Fortuny Madrazo. Grabados y dibujos (1994, with Marisa Cuenca) and Guía para la identificación de grabados (2003). In addition, as an artist she has taken part in many solo and group exhibitions of paintings and engravings, artists’ books and works in important public and private institutions.
