Shitara (Koyama) Satoko is an adjunct lecturer at Keio University. She studied French Literature at Keio University and the Université Paris 3 and earned her doctorate at Keio University. Her area of specialisation is the French poet Théophile Gautier and the history of dance, particularly nineteenth-century Romantic ballet. She has contributed to numerous Japanese publications including Théophile Gautier and 19th-Century Art (2013) and Modern Metropolis and the Arts in the West, vol.2, Paris (2013).
