Sambricio, Carlos
Carlos Sambricio, professor of the History of Architecture and Urban Planning at the Escuela Técnica Superior de Arquitectura de Madrid (ETSAM), holds a doctorate from the Universidad Complutense in Madrid and the École des Hautes Études en Sciences Sociales (EHESS) in Paris. He is the author of Madrid, vivienda y urbanismo 1900-1960, La arquitectura española de la Ilustración and Cuando se quiso resucitar la arquitectura. He has coordinated and edited multi-authored publications such as La arquitectura española en el exilio and Un siglo de vivienda social 1903−2003. Dr Sambricio has received a scholarship from the EHESS in Paris and the Deutscher Akademischer Austauschdienst (DAAD) in Germany and has taught at the Hochschule für Bildende Künste in Hamburg and the Faculty of Architecture of the Politecnico di Milano. He has also been a visiting scholar at Harvard University and the Centre Canadien d’Architecture (CCA) in Montreal, as well as an Alisa Mellon Bruce Senior Fellow at the Center for Advanced Study in the Visual Arts (CASVA), National Gallery of Art, Washington DC.
