Salomon, Xavier F.
Xavier F. Salomon received his PhD from the Courtauld Institute of Art, London, and is chief curator of The Frick Collection, New York. Previously, he was curator in the Department of European Paintings at The Metropolitan Museum of Art and the Dulwich Picture Gallery. He is a noted scholar of Paolo Veronese and curated the monographic exhibition on the artist at the National Gallery, London, in 2014. He curated Veronese’s Allegories: Virtue, Love, and Exploration in Renaissance Venice (New York, 2006), Van Dyck in Sicily, 1624–25: Painting and the Plague (London, 2012) or Cagnacci’s Repentant Magdalene: An Italian Baroque Masterpiece from the Norton Simon Museum (New York, 2016–17).
