Puerta, Ruth de la
Ruth de la Puerta earned a PhD in Geography and History from the University of Valencia for a thesis published in 2006 with the title La segunda piel. Historia del traje en España (siglos XVI-XIX). She worked at the Museo de Prehistoria y de les Cultures in Valencia, as well as at the Museo Nacional de Cerámica y Artes Suntuarias González Martí, cataloguing the costume collections. She taught at the University of Valencia for six years. In 2002 she won the Bernat Capó Bancaixa Research Prize for the Dissemination of Popular Culture for El llenguatge del vestit (siglos XVIII-XIX). She is the author of Historia del Gremio de sastres y modistas de Valencia (1997) and Historia del abanico valenciano (2005). She has published an edition of the Il libro del sarto (2004).
