Miguel Ángel Ochoa Brun, who holds a doctorate in Philosophy and Arts, is a full member of the Real Academia de la Historia. He has been ambassador of Spain and director of the Spanish diplomatic school. He has been decorated with the Grand Cross of the Order of Isabella the Catholic and the Grand Cross of the Order of Merit of the Republic of Austria; he is Commander of the Orders of Civil Merit (Spain) and Saint Gregory the Great (Holy See), and of the Order pro Merito Melitensi (Order of Malta), and also holds the Austrian Cross of Honor for Science and Art First Class and the Medal of the Spanish Diplomatic School. His research has been centered on Spanish diplomacy of the sixteenth and seventeenth centuries.
