Alistair Malcolm received a PhD in History from Oxford University and teaches Modern History at the University of Limerick, Ireland. His research is centered on the political history of seventeenth-century Europe, especially the Spanish monarchy. He has written various studies on the diplomacy, high politics, art, and literature of Habsburg Spain.
