Robert S. Lubar, a specialist in twentieth-century Spanish and French art, was awarded his PhD for a thesis on Joan Miró, to whom he has devoted many studies. He is associate professor at the Institute of Fine Arts, New York University, and the author of Dalí: The Salvador Dalí Museum Collection (2000), among other publications.
