Lenaghan, Patrick
Patrick Lenaghan, head curator of Prints and Photographs, Curator of Sculpture, received his B.A. from Columbia University and his Ph.D. from the Institute of Fine Arts, NYU. Before joining The Hispanic Society, Lenaghan worked at The Metropolitan Museum of Art. He has organized numerous international exhibitions, such as Imágenes del Quijote (Museo Nacional del Prado). In his work on photography, Lenaghan has examined how images of Spain and Latin America were created in the nineteenth and twentieth centuries and now provide a chronicle of a way of life irretrievably lost. He has also written widely on Spanish Renaissance and Baroque sculpture as well as the history of the Hispanic Society collection. In 2018, Lenaghan was named a corresponding member of the Real Academia de Sta Isabel de Hungría (Seville).
