Alice Gudera, who holds a doctorate from the Technische Universität Berlin, worked freelance for the Kulturstiftung der Länder and was involved in exhibition projects on medieval art after studying Art History and English Studies in Bochum and Berlin (Free University). She has been associated with the Kunsthalle Bremen as a freelancer since 2000 and with the Friends of the Hamburg Kunsthalle since 2009. One focus of her publications is 19th- and early 20th-century painting.
