Ettinghausen, Henry
Henry Ettinghausen holds a PhD from the University of Oxford and has been professor of Hispanic Studies at the University of Southampton, from which he is currently professor emeritus. He is a specialist in Spanish and French literature, but his research focuses on Quevedo, autobiographies, relationships of events, and the early Spanish and Catalan press. In addition to his book Francisco de Quevedo and the neostoic movement (1972) and an edition of the Sueños of this author, his main publications include two facsimile editions: Noticias del siglo XVII: relaciones españolas de sucesos naturales y sobrenaturales (1993) and La Guerra dels Segadors a través de la prensa del seu temps (4 vols., 1993). He has the Creu de Sant Jordi (2003) for his involvement with studies on Catalan language and literature in the UK.
