Édouard, Sylvène
Sylvène Édouard is a full professor of Modern History at the Jean Moulin University in Lyon. She has published books and articles on princes in Renaissance Europe addressing aspects such as their discourses, representations (mental and iconic images), appearance, and education, among them L’empire imaginaire de Philippe II (2005), Le corps d’une reine. Histoire singulière d’Élisabeth de Valois (1546-1568) (2009), and Les devoirs du prince. L’éducation princière à la Renaissance (2015). She is also contributing editor of the volumes La vocation du prince (2013) and Le sang des princes (2015). She founded the e-magazine europamoderna.com, of which she is editor in chief, and of which five monographic issues have been brought out since 2011.
