The National Gallery of Art in Washington hosts the first exhibition on Alonso Berruguete in the United States
This is the largest exhibition devoted to the artist outside Spain and will be on view from 13 October 2019 to 17 February 2020 before travelling to the Meadows Museum in Dallas, where it will run from 20 March to 26 July. Both venues have benefited from the special collaboration of the Museo Nacional de Escultura in Valladolid, from whose holdings an outstanding group of pieces has been selected to showcase Berruguete’s creative talent and foster international appreciation of his work.
The accompanying catalogue has been underwritten by the Centro de Estudios Europa Hispánica and the Center for Spain in America, and co-published by these entities with the National Gallery of Art, Washington, and the Meadows Museum, SMU, Dallas.
