Marín López, Javier
Javier Marín López studied Musicology at the University of Granada, where he was awarded his PhD, with a special prize, for a thesis on music in Mexico cathedral during the viceregal period and its relations with the Iberian Peninsula (2007). He has collaborated on the Diccionario de la música española e hispanoamericana and has published various articles and chapters of books on Latin American and Spanish musical culture during the fifteenth to the eighteenth centuries. He is the author of Los libros de polifonía de la Catedral de México. Estudio y catálogo crítico, 2 vols. (2012) and the coauthor of Espacio, sonido y afectos en la Catedral de Jaén (2014). In 2010 he received the 7th Samuel Claro Valdés Latin American Musicology prize from the Pontificia Universidad Católica in Chile. He has directed the Early Music Festival of Úbeda and Baeza since 2007 and has been chief editor of the Revista de Musicología since 2013.
