Eliseo Serrano Martín is full professor of Modern History and dean of the Faculty of Philosophy and Arts at Zaragoza University. His main lines of research include the history of Aragón, on which he has written Historia de Zaragoza. VIII. Los Austrias Mayores (1998) and Historia de Aragón (2008, with other authors). He has also studied the history of seventeenth-century culture, festivities, and ceremonies, as well as religious discourses, in Tradiciones festivas zaragozanas (1981) and Fiestas públicas en Aragón en la Edad Moderna (1998).
