The documentary Zurbarán and His Twelve Sons, directed by Arantxa Aguirre and commissioned by the CEEH, is being shown in two Spanish cities this week.

The first session is on Thursday 12 September at the Museo Sefardí in Toledo, which is housed in the synagogue erected by Samuel ha-Leví in the fourteenth century, commonly known as the Sinagoga del Tránsito. The screening is part of the cultural activities scheduled for the latest edition of Septiembre Sefardí, which commemorates Toledo’s rich Jewish legacy as an essential part of the city’s historic heritage. The film will be presented by Palma Martínez-Burgos, a professor of Art History at the Faculty of Humanities of Toledo University, who will start a discussion with Arantxa Aguirre after the screening. The public will be able to take part in the round of questions.

On Friday 13 it will be the turn of Pamplona, where the documentary will be shown as part of the exhibition Zurbarán, aparición sevillana en la 3.8 staged by the Museo de Navarra to mark the long-term loan of a work by the artist, The Virgin of Mercy with Two Mercedarians.
