The CEEH, the Nordic Institute of Art, the Museo Lázaro Galdiano and the Stavanger kunstmuseum open an exhibition at the latter on the landscape painting by three nineteenth-century artists: the Norwegians Peder Balke and Lars Hertervig, and the Spaniard Eugenio Lucas Velázquez. The show, which features more than 60 works from Norwegian and Spanish collections, is curated by Knut Ljøgodt and Carlos Sánchez Díez, also responsible for the catalogue, an extensively illustrated volume that is available in Spanish and English.

The exhibition, hosted earlier this year at the Museo Lázaro Galdiano in Madrid, first venue of the show, will be on view in Norway until 31 December 2023. A one-day conference has taken place on 29 September, with the participation of several of the catalogue’s authors and other guest scholars of various nationalities.
