García Felguera, María de los Santos
María de los Santos García Felguera has lectured in Art History at the Universidad Complutense in Madrid and at the Pompeu Fabra in Barcelona. She earned a PhD from the Universidad Complutense for a thesis published under the title La fortuna de Murillo (1989, 2nd ed. 2018) and since then she has focused on the reception of artworks. In this field she curated the exhibition Imagen romántica de España (Palacio de Velázquez, 1981) and authored Viajeros, eruditos y artistas. Los europeos ante la pintura española del Siglo de Oro (1991). As a specialist in the history of photography, she contributed to Historia general de la fotografía (2006) and has published many studies, among them Cabañas de cristal. Galerías de retrato y estudios de fotografía en España (2020).
