Tribute to Jonathan Brown and John Elliott at the Museo del Prado
The Museo del Prado is paying tribute to two historians who have played a key role in Hispanic studies in recent decades: Jonathan Brown and Sir John H. Elliott, both of whom died earlier this year. With the Plácido Arango prize awarded by the Fundación Amigos del Museo del Prado, both institutions wish to acknowledge these scholars’ close relationship with the Museum and their decisive contributions to the study of Spanish seventeenth-century art and history.
Brown and Elliott were members of the CEEH’s scientific committee from its establishment in 2003 and were directly involved in many of its projects.
