Jordán de Urríes y de la Colina, Javier
Javier Jordán de Urríes y de la Colina, who holds a PhD in Art History from the Universidad Complutense in Madrid, is curator of eighteenth-century painting at Patrimonio Nacional and the Royal Site of Aranjuez. The author of numerous articles published in specialist journals, conference papers and exhibition catalogues, he has delivered lectures at museums, universities and summer courses, among others. His research is centred on court art, painting, artistic patronage, art collecting, artists’ training and foreign influences. He co-curated the temporary exhibitions Carlos IV, mecenas y coleccionista (2009), El retrato en las Colecciones Reales de Patrimonio Nacional (2014) and Carlos III. Majestad y ornato en los escenarios del rey ilustrado (2016).
