Maurer, Gudrun
Gudrun Maurer graduated and received a doctorate in Art History from the Free University of Berlin. In 2001, she began working for the Department of 18th-century Painting and Goya at the Museo del Prado in Madrid, where she is curator. She published a catalogue raisonné of the Spanish collection of the National Museum Stockholm (2002) and has written on Goya and other 18th-century Spanish and European artists, such as Mengs, and has contributed to various national and international exhibitions on Goya, most recently as scientific advisor to the exhibition in Basel (2021–22). She is also currently co-authoring a catalogue raisonné of Goya’s drawings to be published by the Museo del Prado.
