Vega, Jesusa
Jesusa Vega is professor of History of Modern and Contemporary Art at the Universidad Autónoma in Madrid, and is lead researcher of the “Cultura visual contemporánea” group (UAM). Her research focuses on visual culture of the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries (particularly prints and photography), Francisco de Goya, and the history and methodology of art history in Spain. She has been a fellow of the department of Art History and Theory at the University of Essex (1993–2002) and managing director of the Fundación Lázaro Galdiano (2006–9). In 2011 she held the King Juan Carlos I chair in Spanish Culture at New York University.
