Haan, Bertrand
Bertrand Haan, former member of the Casa de Velázquez in Madrid, is assistant professor at Sorbonne University. He has studied diplomacy in early modern period mainly through the Spain–France relationship: negociations and peace practices and imaginary (Une paix pour l’éternité. La négociation du traité du Cateau-Cambrésis, 2010, and with L. Bély and Stéphane Jettot, La paix des Pyrénées, 2015), and the friendly nature of the political links before the advent of the Nation-States (L’amitié entre princes. Une alliance franco-espagnole au temps des guerres de Religion, 1560–1570, 2011). He has recently coordinated a special issue the review Histoire, Économie & Société entitled La monarchie espagnole du XVIe au XVIIIe siècle. De l’anomalie au modèle (September 2019).
