Steven N. Orso, who spent most of his teaching career at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, is currently an honorary fellow of the Department of Art History at the University of Wisconsin. Orso is the author of Philip IV and the Decoration of the Alcázar of Madrid (1986), Art and Death at the Spanish Habsburg Court: The Royal Exequies for Philip IV (1989), and Velázquez, “Los Borrachos,” and Painting at the Court of Philip IV (1993).
